A short name with room to grow
In a post about the beginnings of 4all, Petr Šedivý describes how he and Pavel Cyprich chose the name. It had to be short, clear to a Czech audience and broad enough to allow the agency to grow beyond one product.
The two syllables, the play on words and the idea of being open to clients large and small all appealed to us. Being near the top of alphabetical lists was a useful bonus.
An idea needs a practical test
We checked the shortlisted names against trademarks. On social media, we accepted handles ending in .cz. The domain was for sale on terms that made sense to us.
That experience showed us why these questions belong together. A name, domain and social profiles form one identity; it pays to check their availability before building the visual one.
The work gives the name meaning
A name is only a beginning. What people come to associate with it grows through the work, the communication and clients’ experience. We wanted a name the agency could grow into.
